About Us
Swamp Diesel is an Indie Southern Rock band based in Louisiana. Led by songwriters Rusty Frioux and Tony Stanley, Swamp Diesel tells stories about life in Louisiana to the sounds of driving guitars and whatever other pots and pans are handy at the moment. Joining Frioux and Stanley are Church Rowe and John Cico, both accomplished songwriters and performers in their own right.
The guys have lived in every corner of Louisiana - and the US for that matter - and it shows in their playing and their storytelling. Sometimes funny, sometimes not, sometimes loud, sometimes not, Swamp Diesel's albums and live shows are a whirlwind tour of stories and musical styles.

Tony Stanley
Songwriter. Lead Guitar. Baseball, breakfast, and books.
Tony Stanley is a father, a husband, a career educator, a thinker of big thoughts, and a lover of simple things. A native of Stonewall, La, Tony grew up in the piney woods and red dirt of North Louisiana. He spent his twenties in New Orleans where he developed his songwriting chops. Tony likes Waylon Jennings, Rush, breakfast food, and things he can't easily break. Tony resides once again in Stonewall, La, with his wife Rachel and too many neighbors.
Rusty Frioux
Songwriter. Guitars. Jambalaya.
Rusty is a songwriter, guitar player, father, and day-job holder. He was born and raised in Bayou Pigeon, Louisiana – the place where crawfish and alligator hunter TV shows are born. Over the years, Rusty has lived, worked, and earned his scars all over the country. In 2012, he returned home for good. Rusty writes songs that honestly speak the truths he's learned over the years, told in the voices he heard growing up.
Church Rowe
Songwriter. Drums. Bass. Keys. Knobs and buttons. Chickens and goats and beans.
Church Rowe is a veteran writer, player, and producer from Abbeville, La. When not playing with Swamp Diesel or mentoring up and coming talent, he grows food and produces records. Check out his other project, Church and State.
John Cico
Songwriter. Vocals. Bass. Guitar. Road miles and finger picks.
John Cico is a finger pickin', song slingin', veteran of the music and film industry. John is an accomplished singer songwriter in his own right and can be found in the bars and clubs of South Louisiana asking why and making em cry just about every weekend.
