Grandpa moved up river
In an old flat bottom boat
To fish the Atchafalaya
And work some when he could
And raise his kids like Grandmaw said
they should
Life was hard back then
At least that’s what they say
Some days the bite was on but he
He went to Church anyway
I asked him why he’d waste a working day.
